Lisa at Juno Pedego

Day 8 - Sun May 14

Pedego Platinum Interceptor

Today's ride takes us from Stuart  to Juno Beach.  It will be a short, sweet 27.5 mile ride. If we are still going at this point, we deserve an easy day. After all, this is Day 8 - we are over half way! The ride will be mainland, inland for the first 12 miles. We hit the beach again at Hobe Sound Beach. There, we'll then take South Beach Road (SR707) all the way to the end of Jupiter Island (8 miles). At that point we have to go inland and around to avoid Jupiter Inlet and cross the Loxahatchee River. The last 5 miles we follow A1A down the coast to Juno. This will be our first stop at a Pedego bike Dealership. Jack is riding a Pedego Platinum Interceptor and we will stop by the store on Sunday and/or Monday to speak with the store's owner - Lisa Paskaly. We plan to stay at the Holiday Inn Express North Palm Beach-Ocean-view - 13950 U.S. Hwy 1, Juno Beach, FL 33408 - (561) 622-4366. The Pedego dealership is actually next door to where we will stay.

Day 7 - Sat May 13

That's not Alan
Today, we're being escorted out of town. Not because of anything Jack said though. Paul and Janet Martin - local Pedego eBike aficionados - will ride with us for the first 7 miles. Today's ride is 43.4 miles. We'll go from Vero Beach to Stuart. Stuart is where my cousin Alan and I started our ill-fated cross-state Seadoo ride a few years ago. That adventure almost ended in disaster as Alan was almost eaten by an Alligator he was harassing in Lake Okeechobee. Later, he was ticketed for speeding in a no-wake zone ($100).  Sometimes, he's out of control. At mile 11.8 we pass by the  Navy UDT-SEAL Museum.  At mile 12.7 we run out of road because of the Fort Pierce Inlet and have to cross over to the mainland. Fortunately that doesn't last long and we are headed back to the islands at mile 16.  Mile 38, out of road again (the island ends) and we're headed inland to Stuart.  We plan to stay at the Best Western Downtown Stuart ,1209 SE Federal Hwy, Stuart, FL 34994 - (772) 287-6200.

Ran the SEAL obstacle course

We were told that we set a record finishing the obstacle course! A record for old men with hernias and bad hips... but hey... we'll take it.
