Today's ride is 49.2 miles and takes us from Crescent Beach to Wilbur-By-The-Sea. We will pass through iconic
Marineland Fl at mile 8, where we will pick up the
Flagler Beach to Marineland Trail. The Flagler Beach to Marineland Trail is a 21-mile long paved pathway that is located along the coast of Northern Florida. For the most part, it is really just a fat sidewalk - but hey, it beats getting run over by cars. The trail extends from the community of
Marineland, goes past Palm Coast and continues to a point about 7 miles south of the community of Flagler Beach. From mile 10-17, A1A veers inland away from the beach because of the many gated, non-accessible communities that hug the beach in Palm Coast. At mile 25.6 we pass the
Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach. This should be a good rest stop as it provides restrooms and shade with direct access to the beach. At mile 36, we leave A1A to cross over the Halifax River where we will pick up the Halifax River Trail. After 5 miles, we will cross back over the Halifax River on Main Street, which will take us back to A1A
at the Pier in downtown Daytona Beach. Here we have the option of taking the beach or A1A for the last 6 miles of the day's ride. We will stay at Days Inn Daytona Oceanfront, 3357 S Atlantic Ave, Wilber-By-The-Sea, FL 32118 - (386) 767-8737
